We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead a 30-person finance team within a law firm environment. This role oversees billing, collections, accounts payable, payroll, and accounting operations, while directly managing six team leads. The Controller will ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient processes across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, collections, AP, payroll, and cash management
• Supervise and develop six direct reports and support a high-performing finance team
• Oversee month-end/year-end close, financial statements, and general ledger accuracy
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Enhance systems, reporting, and internal controls
• Manage audits and ensure compliance with legal, tax, and partnership requirements

Qualifications (Required)

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 10+ years of accounting experience within a law firm (required)
• Strong knowledge of law firm partnerships, tax, and financial compliance
• Prior management experience (supervising direct reports)
• Advanced Excel skills

• CPA license
• Experience with Elite 3E, Aderant, or similar legal accounting systems
